Useful Tips

As soon as you know you are moving, contact us so that we can help you plan for what you will need. Christina will visit your home to conduct a free professional survey of all items to be moved. As well as providing a free quotation, she will also be able to advise you on every aspect of our removal services.

Over the years we have helped to move hundreds, if not thousands, of people so to help you with planning your move we have included a few tips below.

Start thinking about which fixtures and fittings you are taking, and which you will leave. Don't forget to think about items such as light fittings, pictures, shelves and wall cupboards, nor the more obvious things like curtains and carpets.
Consider which garden ornaments and pot plants you will take. Garden fixtures such as seats, sheds, and children's swings etc. can easily be overlooked.
Make arrangements to disconnect any appliances you will be taking - for example, your oven, hobs, dishwasher, washing machine etc.
Clearly identify which fixtures you want us to load on the van, and which you intend to leave in place.
Consider the access to your new property, and let us know if there are likely to be any problems. For example, are there any low bridges on the way? Our vans are very big: will they fit in the road, or get close enough to deliver your furniture? We can always come up with a solution for these things - even transferring your possessions to your house by boat! But if we know about any access problems in advance, we can ensure your move goes as smoothly as possible.
Finally, remember to arrange for disconnection of electricity, telephone, gas, water and other services as appropriate.
